Amanda Stolarcyk is one of the Mi Work Matter’s employment ambassadors that represent the nonprofit as they give presentations at local businesses on the benefits of hiring people with Down Syndrome. Amanda is a great and reliable ambassador; she enjoys giving the presentations and has the credentials through her own work experience.
Amanda currently works at both a commercial bakery and Anastasia and Katie’s Coffee Shop & Cafe where she always shows up prompt and punctual, with a smile on her face eager to work. Before working at the coffee shop, Amanda worked at Kentucky Fried Chicken and Embassy Suites. At Embassy Suites, her job responsibilities included food service, working the front desk and housekeeping duties. On top of those jobs, Amanda has had various student training jobs at a DAV thrift store, Emerson Middle School’s library and scanning documents at Schoolcraft College.
In her spare time, Amanda enjoys doing anything fashion related, arts and crafts, dancing, gymnastics and ice skating. She also enjoys writing and reading, especially short stories, poetry, romance novels and juvenile fiction books. She loves to sing; favoring anything Disney related and love songs from the 90s.
From her work experience and hobbies, Amanda has developed a critical eye for detail and has become a stickler for organization. In the future, she hopes to use those skills as well as her organization and creativity to become a published romance novelist and makeup artist.
