Amanda Walworth
Board of Directors
Amanda has been assisting as our Social Media Volunteer since early 2020 and is excited to serve as one of the newest members of our Board of Directors. Amanda hopes to use social media platforms to spread awareness for Anastasia and Katie’s Coffee Shop and programs such as Mi Work Matters that provide employment opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Amanda’s support for our mission comes from her younger sister who is developmentally disabled and who has positively benefited from employment programs that provided on the job training, fostering her ability to become more self-sufficient. Additionally, Amanda’s son has several developmental delays, so she has been a strong advocate for his needs and programs that provide opportunities for inclusion for individuals of all abilities.
Amanda’s involvement in the local Livonia community, including being President of the Livonia Jaycees in 2018 and on the Board of Directors for several non-profit organizations, will be an asset for Mi Work Matters. She brings her experience with event planning, fundraising, and social media to the organization.
Amanda has worked in healthcare for the last 18 years, with the majority of that spent in Healthcare Information Technology as a Project Manager for the Laboratory Information Systems. She has a Master’s in Healthcare Informatics from the University of Illinois-Chicago.
