Laura M. Jackson
Board of Directors
Laura is looking forward to this new opportunity to serve on the Board of Directors for Mi Work Matters! After a cheerleading accident when she was 14, Laura became a ventilator dependent, quadriplegic. Throughout her journey she has become a fierce advocate for disability rights and inclusion for people with all disabilities. One of her goals is to empower those with disabilities by providing resources and opportunities for purposeful employment. She is passionate about transforming the notion of what life can look like for people with disabilities in order for all to be an active member of society.
She has been involved in a series of fundraising efforts and raising awareness for the challenges that affect the resilient disability community. As Ms. Wheelchair Michigan 20’-21’, she vows to push for equal access for everyone. She also currently serves on the Young Professionals Board for North Star Reach, an accessible camp for children with various disabilities and illnesses.
Laura holds a Bachelors and Masters of Business Administration from Madonna University. She enjoys spending time with her spirited niece and nephews and is excited for the work she will do as a board member of Mi Work Matters and Ms. Wheelchair Michigan.
